Our guided On-Land Birding & Nature Walk takes you along established paths from the higher edge of the wetland through cultivated areas and towards Nkima Forest.
The walk offers a different perspective of Mabamba, with opportunities to observe birds in woodland, farmland, wetland-edge and forest habitats.

Walk to Nkima Forest
For visitors with more time, we recommend extending the experience towards Nkima Forest.
Located around Nansubuga Hill, Nkima offers a peaceful setting where you can relax, continue birdwatching and enjoy the surrounding natural environment.
A visit can also be combined with lunch at Nkima Forest Lodge.
Duration
The standard guided walk takes approximately 1–2 hours, but it can be extended to around 3 hours depending on your interests and schedule.
Rates
Published guided-walk rates:
* 1 person: US$30
* 2 people: US$20 per person
* 3 or more people: US$15 per person
Lunch at Nkima Forest Lodge can be added at an additional US$15 per person for a three-course hot meal.
