SHOEBILL TOUR IN MABAMBA

Mabamba Swamp is a bird lover’s dream destination and a reliable place to find the prehistorical Shoebills in Uganda. The swamp is a major breeding site and prides itself as one of the locations with the highest concentration of the Shoebills in the world. This leisure boat cruise will go around waterways in the swamp with chance sighting of many different bird species and the endemics that live around lake Victoria.

During this tour you may get to see the rare Shoebill and a variety of other bird species like, Papyrus Gonolek, African and Lesser Jacanas, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers, Great and Reed Cormorants, Great White, Intermediate, Black, and Cattle Egrets, Purple, Goliath, Rufous-bellied, Squacco, Black-headed, and Grey Herons, Greater and Lesser Swamp Warblers, African Fish Eagle, Palm-nut Vulture, Wood and Common Sandpipers among others.

Daily Shoebill trips starts at 7am or at your preferred time. Trips can start from Nakiwogo Entebbe or from Mabamba Swamp Site.

Trip Costs.

When you find us at Mabamba Swamp site, you pay $60 inclusive of a boat and guide. Entrance fee is $8 per person. A boat can take 1-3 clients, and the tour takes 2 hours.
